DMK president M.K. Stalin marked the hundredth day since the demise of former chief minister and DMK patriarch Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi, paying solemn homage to his monumental contributions to Tamil society and parliamentary democracy. Stalin reflected on Karunanidhi's eight decades of active public service, during which the late leader authored landmark social welfare policies, championed state autonomy, and transformed Tamil Nadu into a pioneering bastion of social justice.
Stalin emphasized that Karunanidhi's defining political trait was unshakeable ideological resilience in the face of electoral setbacks and adversarial political campaigns. Rather than succumbing to despair during periods of political adversity, Karunanidhi systematically mobilized democratic resistance and defeated political adversaries through constitutional means, mass communication, and institutional reform. Stalin called upon party cadres to embrace this fighting spirit as their guiding political philosophy.
Reaffirming the party's ideological direction, Stalin declared that DMK cadres will steadfastly travel the path charted by Karunanidhi to defeat reactionary and anti-democratic forces. He affirmed that preserving self-respect values, defending regional linguistic pride, and advancing federal democracy represent the most authentic tributes to the departed Dravidian stalwart. He urged cadres to rededicate themselves to public welfare.
