DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed acute shock and fury over the gruesome sexual assault and decapitation of a thirteen-year-old Dalit girl, Rajalakshmi, in Salem district. Stalin severely condemned the local law enforcement authorities for reportedly attempting to shield the perpetrator by portraying him as mentally unstable rather than invoking stringent statutory provisions including the Goondas Act.
Stalin questioned Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami directly, pointing out that such horrific cruelty and administrative apathy occurred within the chief minister's home district. He asserted that portraying perpetrators of monstrous sexual violence against marginalized children as mentally incapacitated represents a grotesque subversion of criminal justice designed to dilute charges and enable bail. Such callous handling reveals complete failure to protect vulnerable girl children and minority communities from predatory atrocities.
Stalin demanded that the police department act with an iron fist, re-examine the investigation under senior supervisory officers, and invoke the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act alongside the Goondas Act. He insisted on fast-tracking the prosecution through a special court to secure exemplary capital punishment for the offender. Stalin declared that the safety of vulnerable children requires uncompromising administrative resolve and exemplary justice.
