இதனை தடுக்கவேண்டிய முதல்வரும், குட்கா புகழ் அமைச்சரும் அதிமுக-வின் 47வது ஆண்டுவிழா கொண்டாட்டத்தில் இருக்கிறார்கள்!

Editorial context

DMK president M.K. Stalin strongly condemned Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and Health Minister C. Vijayabaskar for attending political celebrations while dengue and swine flu claimed thirteen lives across Tamil Nadu. Among the deceased were seven-year-old twin children in Chennai, whose tragic deaths deeply shocked the state. Stalin questioned the moral conscience of ruling leaders who prioritized party festivities over managing a rapidly worsening public health crisis.

Stalin pointed out that government hospitals lacked adequate diagnostic testing kits, essential fever medicines, and sufficient medical staff to treat patients efficiently. Despite escalating casualty figures, state authorities failed to launch aggressive fumigation drives or coordinate emergency healthcare interventions across municipalities. Instead, senior ministers engaged in ceremonial events, showing callous indifference toward grieving families and suffering citizens who desperately sought timely medical assistance.

Demanding immediate accountability from the health department, Stalin urged the administration to deploy emergency medical teams, establish round-the-clock fever wards, and ensure free treatment in both public and private hospitals. He emphasized that preserving human life must take precedence over political spectacle, urging authorities to focus entirely on controlling the epidemic.
