DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed sincere gratitude to Puducherry Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy for the meaningful decision to institute an academic chair in the name of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Dravidian stalwart Dr. Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi at Pondicherry University. Stalin conveyed heartfelt appreciation on behalf of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, noting that establishing a university research chair was a fitting tribute to a visionary leader who dedicated his life to public education and social equality.

Stalin reflected on Kalaignar Karunanidhi's lifelong commitment to uplifting oppressed and marginalized communities through the widespread expansion of educational institutions, universities, and technical research centers across Tamil Nadu. He emphasized that Kalaignar viewed the dissemination of modern knowledge and scientific thought as the most potent instrument for achieving social justice, self-respect, and comprehensive human progress in Dravidian society.
