DMK president M.K. Stalin commended the Tamil feature film Pariyerum Perumal, describing it as an unforgettable cinematic creation that exposed deep-seated caste discrimination, institutional humiliation, and social inequalities that continue to afflict society. Stalin praised debut director Mari Selvaraj and producer Pa. Ranjith for crafting a poignant, courageous artistic narrative depicting the everyday struggles of an underprivileged youth striving for dignity, education, and equality in modern Tamil Nadu.
Stalin observed that watching the movie reinforced the imperative need for society to produce more visionary social reformers like Thanthai Periyar, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Perarignar Anna, and Muthamizharignar Kalaignar Karunanidhi. He emphasized that the ideological crusade against caste-based discrimination, social exclusion, and structural bigotry pioneered by Dravidian stalwarts remains an unfinished historical mission requiring relentless democratic vigilance and mass cultural education across generations.
Stalin affirmed that eradicating the toxic scourge of caste discrimination requires countless dedicated youths like the film's protagonist Pariyan to rise with assertiveness and self-respect. He reiterated the DMK's steadfast commitment to advancing social justice, educational empowerment, and equal human dignity, commending progressive creators who harness cinema as a transformative medium for human emancipation.
