DMK president M.K. Stalin urged the Tamil Nadu government to implement the Supreme Court directive requiring SASTRA University to vacate illegally occupied public land before October 3. He highlighted that statutory authorities must uphold judicial mandates without hesitation, protecting public assets from unauthorized institutional encroachment across the state. The apex court had established a clear deadline for the institution to surrender the tract to the state administration.
Stalin contrasted the administration's passive response toward the private university with its aggressive deployment of police personnel to acquire agricultural holdings for the proposed Salem-Chennai eight-lane expressway. He pointed out that while ordinary farming families faced stringent administrative force and swift confiscation of ancestral properties, powerful private institutions received unexplained leniency and administrative accommodation from high-ranking government officials.
Stalin insisted that the rule of law must apply equally to all entities regardless of institutional influence or political connections. He demanded that the state revenue department take physical possession of the disputed land immediately upon the expiry of the judicial deadline, restoring government property for public utility and administrative transparency without bowing to covert administrative pressures or delaying tactics.
