Editorial context

DMK president M.K. Stalin raised serious concern over the steady migration of local industrial entrepreneurs from Tamil Nadu to neighboring states due to bureaucratic corruption and administrative paralysis. He remarked that while Chief Ministers of other states actively visited Chennai to attract new investments, domestic manufacturers within Tamil Nadu were leaving to seek transparent operational environments, reliable infrastructure, and faster regulatory approvals elsewhere across southern India.

Stalin characterized the government's plan to organize a second Global Investors Meet as an extravagant waste of public revenues. He observed that investors had lost trust in the state leadership because ministerial corruption and administrative delays obstructed genuine enterprise, factory clearances, basic infrastructural connectivity, reliable power distribution, and sustainable commercial development throughout the state.

Stalin stressed that attracting investment requires clean governance, dependable infrastructure, and policy consistency rather than expensive event management and hollow promotional blitzes. He demanded that the administration reform industrial clearances, support local small and medium enterprises, ensure genuine ease of doing business, and restore Tamil Nadu's historic reputation as a premier manufacturing destination in South India through transparent, accountable governance.
