DMK president M.K. Stalin questioned the credibility of the state government's investment projections for the proposed 2019 Global Investors Meet. He noted that during the first investor summit, the administration had promised incoming capital of Rs 2.42 lakh crore, yet those grand commitments remained unfulfilled on the ground with minimal factory completions and negligible employment generation for local graduates, engineers, and skilled workers.

Stalin mocked recent official announcements claiming that Gujarat alone would contribute Rs 20,000 crore in investments during the forthcoming summit. He pointed out that making hollow declarations without presenting verifiable project completions insulted the intelligence of Tamil Nadu's citizens, hardworking industrial workforce, and local business community who faced persistent economic stagnation, power shortages, and bureaucratic red tape.

Stalin demanded that the industries department publish an exhaustive white paper detailing the actual financial realization, factory establishments, and employment generated from past industrial summits. He reiterated that sustainable industrial growth requires verifiable infrastructure delivery, transparent clearances, and stable policy incentives rather than recurrent public relations claims detached from reality, economic facts, and genuine administrative progress across the entire state.
