DMK president M.K. Stalin questioned the Tamil Nadu government for transferring a woman Superintendent of Police who had lodged a formal sexual harassment complaint against Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Inspector General Murugan. He criticized the administration for penalizing the complainant officer while shielding the accused senior official from immediate disciplinary action or statutory inquiries required under workplace protection guidelines.
Stalin asked whether Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami was deliberately protecting the Inspector General to reciprocate institutional favors, as the officer was supervising sensitive corruption investigations involving cabinet ministers and the Chief Minister himself. He stated that using executive transfers to punish whistleblowers undermines internal administrative accountability and signals that powerful officials remain immune to legal scrutiny within state law enforcement agencies.
Stalin demanded the immediate revocation of the woman officer's transfer, the suspension of the accused Inspector General, and a fair, independent investigation free from political meddling. He stressed that law enforcement leadership must uphold constitutional morality and protect subordinate personnel, warning that the DMK will persistently expose administrative maneuvers designed to bury institutional corruption, administrative bias, and official misconduct.
