DMK president M.K. Stalin stated that fugitive liquor baron Vijay Mallya's explosive public disclosure confirming a personal meeting with Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley prior to leaving India offered undeniable proof of collusion between the central government and major wilful bank defaulters. He questioned why such a sensitive meeting with an accused individual was kept completely hidden from Parliament and investigative agencies.

Stalin demanded to know why law enforcement authorities failed to detain Mallya immediately upon learning of his imminent departure, and how a known economic fugitive was permitted to leave the country unobstructed. He pointed out that while ordinary farmers, students, and small enterprises face aggressive loan recovery procedures and public humiliation for modest dues, corporate defaulters looting thousands of crores of public funds receive political patronage and safe passage abroad.

Stalin asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is directly accountable to the citizens of India for enabling fugitive financial offenders to evade domestic justice. He called for a comprehensive parliamentary inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Mallya's departure, insisting that central leadership must answer for betraying public banking integrity and national economic interests across the country.
