DMK president M.K. Stalin denounced Electricity Minister P. Thangamani for misleading the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly by falsely proclaiming that the state had attained a self-sufficient power surplus status. He pointed out that while the government made grand declarations on the floor of the legislature, citizens across rural and urban centers were experiencing daily, unscheduled blackouts that disrupted livelihood activities, farming operations, and household routines throughout the state.

Stalin noted the hypocrisy in the minister's subsequent public statements, which cited recurring boiler breakdowns at state thermal generating stations and shortfalls in central power grid supplies to excuse persistent outages. He questioned why an administration claiming generation surplus was constantly scrambling to explain electricity shortages whenever consumer demand increased across industrial belts and agricultural regions.

Stalin demanded that the Tamil Nadu government publish an authentic white paper detailing actual power generation capacity, procurement costs from private producers, and grid transmission stability. He declared that an administration unable to maintain steady electricity supply has lost the moral right to govern, affirming that the DMK will continue championing reliable public utilities for all citizens without compromise.
