Requesting @cmoTamilNadu to urgently consider reducing fuel prices in the interest of citizens of #TamilNadu who are being crushed under the ruthless rise in #petroldieselpricehike #fuelpricehike
DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed profound gratitude to trade unions, commercial establishments, transport operators, civil society organizations, and the general public for extending complete cooperation toward making the nationwide Bharat Bandh an overwhelming success across Tamil Nadu. He stated that the total shutdown reflected widespread, deep-seated public fury against the crushing economic policies of the central and state governments.
Stalin criticized the central Bharatiya Janata Party regime for maintaining utter indifference toward the mounting distress of ordinary citizens burdened by daily increases in petrol and diesel prices. He simultaneously condemned the state AIADMK government for acting as passive spectators to central fiscal extortion, refusing to reduce local state value-added taxes on fuel to provide essential relief to working-class consumers and small businesses throughout the state.
Stalin warned that ruling dispensations ignoring public anger will face decisive political rejection in upcoming elections. He affirmed that the DMK will continuously lead popular democratic movements to demand drastic reductions in central excise duties, rollback of discriminatory petroleum taxation, and effective price controls on essential commodities for the welfare of the people across Tamil Nadu.
