There will be NO justice when the tainted investigate the tainted.
DMK has filed proof of corruption against CM Palaniswami and DCM Paneerselvam. Yet, the DVAC, led by an official who's under a cloud, has not filed cases.
A clean, IG-ranked officer must take over inquiry.
DMK president M.K. Stalin emphasized that justice is fundamentally impossible when tainted officials are entrusted with investigating corrupt political leaders. Stalin noted that the DMK had submitted conclusive, documentary evidence detailing systemic graft, tender fixing, and disproportionate wealth accumulation against Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam. In spite of these comprehensive complaints, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption failed to register formal First Information Reports because the agency was led by an officer under a severe cloud of misconduct allegations.
Stalin insisted that allowing a compromised officer to oversee high-profile political investigations completely destroyed public credibility in state statutory bodies. With the investigating officer vulnerable to executive coercion, the entire vigilance process had been reduced to a protective shield for ruling cabinet members.
Stalin demanded that an upright, reputable officer of Inspector General rank be appointed immediately to take charge of the DVAC. He reaffirmed the DMK unwavering resolve to pursue legal remedies before the High Court to enforce a time-bound, court-monitored investigation, ensuring that public resources looted through official malfeasance are recovered under the rule of law.
