Support for Modi Govt in #NoConfidence despite NEET, 15th Finance Commission, GST, Hindi imposition and communal politics is further proof of the quid pro quo arrangement between ADMK and BJP. IT raids on Chief Minister Edapadi Palaniswami's family have achieved their objective.
DMK leader M.K. Stalin asserted that the AIADMK's unconditional voting support for the Modi government during the parliamentary no-confidence motion provided incontrovertible evidence of a corrupt quid pro quo arrangement between the two parties. Stalin observed that the state ruling party backed the central government despite widespread public outrage over discriminatory NEET entrance exams, adverse terms under the 15th Finance Commission, asymmetric GST compensation, aggressive Hindi imposition, and polarising politics.
Stalin highlighted that the timing of aggressive Income Tax Department raids on businesses linked to Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami's immediate family had successfully achieved its covert political objective. By wielding central investigative agencies as coercive instruments, the Union government effectively neutralized the state leadership, compelling their complete parliamentary submission. In exchange for immunity from prosecution, the AIADMK leadership discarded Tamil Nadu's legitimate constitutional and economic rights.
Stalin reiterated that subservience to central masters at the expense of regional welfare represents a complete and shameful abdication of constitutional duty. He affirmed that the DMK remains steadfast in challenging central authoritarianism and safeguarding Tamil Nadu's fiscal autonomy, cultural self-respect, democratic institutions, and federal entitlements.
