DMK leader M.K. Stalin expressed profound anguish and heartbreak over the horrifying sexual assault of an eleven-year-old hearing-impaired girl over a prolonged period of seven months in Chennai. Describing the barbaric crime as a devastating shock to human conscience, Stalin demanded that law enforcement authorities ensure swift, exemplary, and stringent punishment for all seventeen accused perpetrators involved. He insisted that the state administration leave no legal loophole for the culprits to escape justice under the POCSO Act.
Highlighting the absolute duty of the state to protect vulnerable children, Stalin called upon the government to immediately provide comprehensive medical treatment, psychological counselling, financial compensation, and long-term rehabilitative care to the traumatized young survivor and her distressed family. He pointed out that systemic lapses in urban community vigilance, residential security, and police oversight create terrifying vulnerabilities for marginalized children, requiring proactive protective measures across residential complexes.
Stalin reiterated that child safety and women's security must be treated as paramount priorities of governance. He affirmed that the DMK stands solidly with the survivor's family in their quest for justice, demanding zero tolerance toward crimes against women and children throughout Tamil Nadu.
