Tamil Nadu, under the "ADMK Model", has fared poorly in the Ease of Doing Business rankings 2018. Low feedback score shows how much industry is repelled by ADMK Govt. This is further proof of what a monumental failure the Global Investor Meet was under this Govt. https://t.co/QR2HEx2Yjq

Editorial context

DMK leader M.K. Stalin criticized the ruling AIADMK government after Tamil Nadu plummeted to the fifteenth position in the Ease of Doing Business rankings released by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion for 2018. Stalin pointed out that the dismal performance, marked by particularly abysmal feedback scores from enterprise owners, vividly demonstrated how industrial investors and entrepreneurs were actively repelled by the state's corrupt and bureaucratic administrative apparatus.

Stalin underscored that Tamil Nadu, historically celebrated as an industrial powerhouse and premier manufacturing hub under visionary Dravidian governance, had suffered severe stagnation under AIADMK misrule. The embarrassing ranking exposed the empty rhetoric behind the heavily advertised Global Investors Meet, which failed to translate grandiose memorandums of understanding into tangible factories, capital investments, or employment opportunities. Rent-seeking practices, delayed clearances, and infrastructure neglect systematically deterred leading global corporations from establishing operations in the state.

Stalin declared that revitalizing Tamil Nadu's industrial ecosystem requires transparent governance, single-window clearances, and genuine investor confidence. He affirmed that the DMK will champion forward-looking industrial reforms to restore the state's manufacturing leadership and generate sustainable employment for educated youth.
