DMK leader M.K. Stalin stated that the latest Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) audit report had thoroughly unmasked the staggering incompetence and fiscal ruin of the AIADMK administration. Highlighting specific figures from the constitutional audit, Stalin pointed out that the state suffered a staggering loss of 607 crore rupees exclusively from purchasing inferior-grade coal, culminating in an overall procurement loss of 1,599.81 crore rupees between 2013 and February 2016 in coal imports.
Stalin emphasized that the audit revelations provided definitive documentary evidence of systematic tender rigging and criminal collusion within the state electricity establishment. By importing low-calorific coal while paying rates meant for premium grades, corrupt intermediaries and political patrons enriched themselves at the direct expense of the public exchequer. Meanwhile, the administration covered up these monumental losses by imposing continuous electricity tariff hikes on households, farmers, and small commercial establishments across Tamil Nadu.
Stalin asserted that the CAG findings serve as an unanswerable indictment of the ruling regime's governance bankruptcy. He reiterated that the DMK remains committed to exposing these systemic procurement scams, demanding legal restitution and transparent public administration.
