The discrepancies in the translated NEET question papers have discriminated against non-Hindi speaking students. I urge all Chief Ministers of non-BJP ruling States to join together in opposing this unfair test on this ground also. (2/2) #NEETKillsPradeeba #BanNeet
DMK leader M.K. Stalin issued an appeal on June 5, 2018, urging Chief Ministers of all non-BJP ruled states to join forces and mount a concerted opposition to the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. Stalin emphasized that egregious discrepancies and mistranslations in regional language question papers, particularly in Tamil, had placed non-Hindi speaking students at a severe disadvantage. He stated that this systemic unfairness provided compelling justification for regional states to resist the standardized examination.
Analysis of the Tamil question paper revealed dozens of erroneous translations, confusing phrasing, and inaccurate scientific terminology that severely misled students during examination hours. Stalin noted that while candidates writing in Hindi or English received accurate questionnaires, vernacular candidates were penalized by slipshod translations produced by central testing authorities. This structural disparity violated constitutional guarantees of equality, unfairly lowering scores for regional language students and compromising their admissions into state medical institutions.
Stalin urged progressive state leaders to challenge this centralized testing model collectively in political and legal forums. He emphasized that linguistic equality is vital for educational fairness. Stalin affirmed that the DMK will persistently defend the rights of non-Hindi speaking students against discriminatory entrance examinations.
